Heavy Civil Construction Organization Seeks Talented Controller A bit about us:The Controller is responsible for directing all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, internal controls, and compliance activities for the company. This position partners closely with executive leadership to provide financial insight that supports strategic decision-making while ensuring the integrity of the company's financial records.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Kent, Washington. We believe close collaboration between accounting, operations, and executive leadership is essential to our success, and this role is expected to be on-site each business day.
The Controller will supervise accounting personnel and oversee accounting functions related to heavy civil construction, including job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, equipment accounting, payroll, and contract accounting.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant construction accounting experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting leadership or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles.
- Extensive experience with:
- Job costing
- Work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
- Percentage-of-completion accounting
- Construction contracts
- Cash flow management
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Experience with accounting software in a construction environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- CPA license.
- Experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or commercial construction.
- Familiarity with prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements.
- Experience with union payroll and multi-employer benefit reporting.
- Experience working with equipment-intensive construction operations.
- Experience managing audits and banking relationships.
