General PurposeReporting to the Development Engineering Manager, the Development Project Coordinator serves as the primary coordinator for development-related permit applications, project workflows, document review processes, and stakeholder communications within the Development Engineering Section.
The position functions as the organizational hub for multiple concurrent development projects and is responsible for coordinating project activities, tracking deadlines, facilitating communication among stakeholders, maintaining project records, and ensuring permit applications and supporting documentation move efficiently through established review and approval processes.
Work is characterized by advanced project coordination, analytical, administrative, and document management responsibilities involving confidential information, legal and technical documents, competing deadlines, and frequent interaction with City staff, applicants, developers, consultants, contractors, and the public.
The incumbent performs broad and complex duties requiring independent judgment, initiative, research and analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Salary$7,806.00- $9,533.00 per month, depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Coordination and Workflow Management- Coordinate the routing, tracking, review, and approval of engineering permit applications, legal documents, and associated records.
- Monitor project status, identify pending actions, track deadlines, and facilitate timely completion of permit reviews and approvals.
- Coordinate activities among Development Engineering, Planning, Public Works, Permit Center, outside agencies, developers, contractors, consultants, and applicants.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project status inquiries and procedural questions.
- Coordinate the preparation, routing, review, approval, recording, retention, and archiving of legal and technical documents associated with development projects.
- Review permit submittals and supporting documentation for completeness, consistency, and compliance with established requirements.
- Maintain project files, records, databases, performance metrics, and tracking systems.
- Assist with preparation, review, and administration of easements, deeds, agreements, bonds, insurance documents, property management documents, bills of sale, and related permit records.
- Conduct research and compile information from permit files, City records, regulations, policies, property records, legal descriptions, and technical documents.
- Analyze project information and identify inconsistencies, missing documentation, procedural deficiencies, and required follow‑up actions.
- Assist management with development of policies, procedures, process improvements, performance measures, and operational initiatives.
