Hourly Rate: $18.75 - $20.75 per hour depending on position
Essential DutiesGet ready to lead and inspire! As a Summer Playground Leader, you'll play a key role in creating unforgettable experiences for kids ages 6-14 at our dynamic, free drop-in playground program. Under the guidance of the Adaptive and Youth/Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, you'll plan, lead, and deliver engaging daily activities including arts and crafts, creative play, high-energy sports, water games, group activities, and more.
You will work directly with kids throughout the day, helping maintain a safe, positive program and assisting with daily activity planning, setup and takedown. This role is a solid opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with young people, staying active, and collaborating with a supportive staff team. You’ll serves as a positive role model and be part of a fast-paced summer program where no two days are the same.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Possess a valid CPR and Standard First Aid Card by start date.
- Must be enthusiastic, energetic, reliable, trustworthy, and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to be sensitive and responsive to the needs of all the participants.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple distractions and competing priorities.
- Applicants are subject to Sterling background check.
- Other requirements include three personal and/or work references.
- 1 year or more of experience working with children in recreation, teaching, or day camp environment.
- Knowledge of age-appropriate athletic and social activities, crafts, and other large group activities for children between 6-14 years old.

- Must be able to physically play and demonstrate active games, work with arts and crafts materials.
- Outdoor recreational environment subject to noise that varies from low to high, distractions, seasonal heat, adverse weather conditions and periodic interruptions.
- Exposure to extended periods of direct sunlight and/or cool and damp weather is possible.
- Strong stamina and ability to keep up with participants.
