Overview
A growing construction and contracting organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial and multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing project execution, financial performance, scheduling, client relationships, and coordination between office and field teams to ensure successful project delivery.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys balancing operational oversight, stakeholder communication, and field collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead construction projects through all phases, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
Support preconstruction efforts including scope reviews, bid coordination, and value engineering opportunities
Manage project budgets, forecasting, billing, cost tracking, and overall profitability
Coordinate schedules with field leadership, subcontractors, and project partners
Provide guidance and support to project support staff and field personnel
Ensure field teams have the necessary documentation, materials, and resources to execute work effectively
Participate in coordination meetings and oversee project coordination processes, including digital modeling workflows when applicable
Manage procurement activities to ensure materials and equipment arrive accurately and on schedule
Review and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
Negotiate project changes and maintain clear communication regarding scope, pricing, and timelines
Conduct regular site visits and project meetings to monitor progress and proactively resolve issues
Ensure compliance with contracts, safety standards, building codes, and company procedures
Track labor productivity and project milestones to maintain project performance targets
Oversee project closeout activities including punch lists, as-built documentation, warranties, and turnover materials
Participate in post-project evaluations and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications:
5+ years of project management experience within construction, mechanical, or plumbing environments
Experience managing commercial, multifamily, or large-scale construction projects preferred
Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, procurement, and contract administration
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Experience working with project management software, Bluebeam, Autodesk products, Microsoft Office, or similar tools
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience
Work Environment:
This role operates between office and construction site environments and includes regular local travel to active job sites. PPE may be required during site visits.
