Hours for this role vary - typically it is 16 hours per week, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

These are temporary (extra-hire) positions not eligible for County benefits.

Pierce County Parks is accepting applications for a temporary (extra-hire) Room Monitor position at our Chambers Creek Regional Park. In this role you will be critical in ensuring events are successful.

You will set up and tear down events and act as the primary point of contact for groups renting/using the facility. This means setting up tables and chairs for rentals, supervising groups in attendance, providing great customer service, putting away tables and chairs, tidying up the space post-event, and completing paperwork after functions.

Core Daily Responsibilities
  • Point of contact for groups renting/using the facility.
  • Wipe down surfaces and take out trash while using household-type cleaning products.
  • Make sure the facility is safe for all in attendance.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Work within and enforce the policies and procedures of the facility.
  • Adjust event layout, including moving furniture.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Customer services skills
  • Ability to successfully navigate unusual circumstances

This is a competitive selection process. Your application will be reviewed and evaluated for the quality and quantity of education/experience in the areas listed. Applicants whose qualifications most closely correspond to the County's needs will be eligible for further consideration. Notification of application status normally occurs 2 to 3 weeks after the closing date. Short notice may be given to applicants to participate in further selection processes which may include assessments, phone screen, and interviews.
