The job of Family Resource Coordinator (FRC) is to support the Center for Teaching and Learning Birth‑Grade 12 and act as an advocate for families in need of support for at‑risk infants and toddlers. The support includes providing service coordination, community outreach, support and referral services, identifying community resources, collaborating with local agencies and service providers including school districts, developing and tracking Individual Family Service Plans, entering data and reporting, educating, and supporting parents and children.
This position will serve Ferry, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties and reports to the director of the Center for Teaching and Learning Birth‑Grade 12.
Responsibilities- Acquaints parents with the Early Support for Infants and Toddlers Program. Promotes parent involvement in all aspects of the program, including home visits, parent meetings, and county coordinating meetings.
- Acts as a liaison between North East Washington Educational Service District 101 (NEWESD), school districts, families, and other area agencies for the purpose of enhancing communication between parties.
- Attends meetings, staff development, and training for the purpose of representing NEWESD and receiving and conveying information.
- Conducts a family needs assessment and develops Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) consistent with family objectives, strengths, and resources, etc.
- Plans, schedules, conducts, and participates in formal and informal meetings, programs, and activities for parents, local school district personnel, and other community agencies.
- Enters and compiles data and materials for the purpose of analyzing issues, child and family needs, and providing resources, while ensuring compliance with various policies, procedures, and/or program components.
- Provides support, referral services, and follow-up for the purpose of meeting family needs.
- Creates and maintains up‑to‑date files (written and/or electronic) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with specific program requirements.
- Consults with other internal staff who work within the ESIT program to identify family goals and health needs.
- Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. procedures, newsletters, and other public awareness materials) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
- Provides direct assistance to school districts (e.g. procedures, Part C services and regulations, transition, child find, models for intervention, screening, and assessments) for the purpose of delivering services which conform to established guidelines.
- Supports assigned administrator for the purpose of providing assistance with their administrative functions.

Responsibilities include:
working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods, leading, guiding, and or coordinating others, and operating within a defined budget. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
- preparing and maintaining accurate records and
- operating standard office equipment using pertinent software applications.
Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes:
- pertinent codes, policies, regulations, and/or laws,
- instructional strategies in early education, child development, and early childhood special education, and
- knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C preferred.
Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
- communicating with persons of varied cultural and educational backgrounds,
- maintaining confidentiality,
- accurate record keeping, and
- having regular and reliable attendance.
