Position: Teacher of the Deaf in Kent, WA

Qualifications:
  • Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility to obtain one
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), Signed Exact English (SEE), or other communication modalities
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with diverse teams
  • Passion for student success and inclusivity
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, both in individual and group settings
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet student needs
  • Assess student progress and adjust educational plans accordingly
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, administrators, and parents
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to data-driven education decisions
  • Advocate for student access and inclusion within the school community
