Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Kent, Washington
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with visual impairments for the  academic year. This onsite, part-time role offers the chance to make a lasting difference for learners who need specialized instruction in a supportive environment. You'll be engaged with a caseload of eight students, providing a mix of weekly, monthly, and quarterly service minutes that total approximately 15 hours each week.

Key

Qualifications:
  • Valid Washington Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required
  • Must complete fingerprinting through the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in teaching students with visual impairments
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptive teaching skills
Role Responsibilities:
  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, following each student's IEP or 504 Plan
  • Develop and implement learning materials in accessible formats, utilizing Braille and adaptive technologies as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, service minutes, and required documentation for compliance
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and families to support inclusive educational environments
  • Conduct assessments, contribute to IEP meetings, and provide expertise on accessibility and accommodations
