Job Description

Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.

Pro Care Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Willimantic, CT. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work with students who have a range of disabilities and special needs, ensuring that each student receives the individualized support and instruction necessary to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Full Time
    • 7am-2:30pm Monday-Friday
    • 35 hours weekly
  • Caseload:
    Comfortable working with Adult caseload k-21

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction to students using a variety of teaching methods and materials tailored to individual learning styles and needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to create inclusive learning environments and promote student success.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic growth.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, behavior, and services provided.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
  • Stay informed of best practices and research-based interventions in the field of special education.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid state Special Education Teacher certification.
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Commitment to creating inclusive and equitable learning environments for all students.
