Special Education Teacher

Location: Willimantic, CT

Job Type: Full-Time

Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that cater to each student's specific needs.
• Provide direct instruction and support in both academic and behavioral areas.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a cohesive learning plan.
• Regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to ensure success.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of student achievements, challenges, and IEP goals.
• Develop and utilize a range of instructional materials and techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Engage in ongoing communication with families to support student development and address any concerns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field;
  Master's degree preferred.
• Valid Connecticut Special Education certification.
• Demonstrated experience working with students with various disabilities and learning challenges.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
