Position: Special Education Teacher (SPED) Position Near Meriden, CT

Job Description

Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and caring Special Education Teacher (SPED) near the Meriden, CT area to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring that their unique learning goals and objectives are addressed.
  • Utilize various teaching strategies and techniques to acmodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and support services.
  • Provide direct instruction to students, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a sense of belonging and supports the social and emotional well-being of students.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, behavior, and IEP pliance.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Prior experience working with students with special needs is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong munication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and other professionals.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
