ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARYWorld Relief seeks a School Age Programs Specialist to help expand our school age programs and services this summer. Our school age program offerings include an individualized tutoring support program and a crafts‑based youth engagement group program. In addition, through the Family Support Services (FSS) program, we offer individualized support to children and families in accessing and navigating various school systems and academic and enrichment opportunities.
Overall, our programs aim to support and invest in refugee and immigrant children and their families through strengths‑based, culturally responsive, and healing‑centered wraparound programs that are focused on holistic development, educational support, community integration and a sense of belonging.
This is a temporary full‑time position funded through a grant agreement for up to 90 days and contingent upon funding extension.
Outreach, Enrollment and Intake- Support the expansion of the school‑age FSS program through community outreach and follow up on referrals from within WRWW, community partners, and direct family requests. Follow all due intake and enrollment process.
- Partner with families in a culturally responsive and healing centered framework—assessing their requirements, setting goals based on strengths and barriers, facilitating community and resource connections, and offering them relevant supports.
- Ensure sustained engagement through active follow‑up and relationship‑building with families.
- As needed, provide home‑visits and accompany families to help with navigating systems and resources.
- Assist and support with school navigation including any school registrations, IEP or 504 plans, and other academic or English language learning needs for the students.
- Research and facilitate connection of families with enrichment opportunities and tutoring support.
- Provide support with accessing resources for the behavioral and mental health needs of students.
- Support the implementation and facilitation of our summer school age programs for immigrant and refugee youth in North Seattle and South King County sites.
- The group activities are run weekly at each program site for 6 weeks in the Summer.
- Continue to build the resources list and establish connections with local organizations & partners to continue expand resource connections and opportunities for refugee and immigrant families and children.
- Support with coordinating and organizing family engagement events, programs, and training/workshops.
- Coordinate and support initiatives to provide family resources and meet felt needs (e.g., backpack drives).
- Administer student assessments and parent feedback surveys to support the program's learning and evaluation efforts.
- Use internal tools and database to collect, track and update participant information, documents, case notes, feedback, and other program details.
- Work closely with the Coordinators and Program Manager to ensure all programs data are recorded in a timely manner.
- Work alongside the program coordinator in the expansion of the hybrid tutoring program “School Success Coaches” by supporting with outreach and enrollment tasks, procuring and distributing resources/supplies for students, assisting with the planning and facilitation of in‑person activities, and any parent communication and follow‑ups for participant families,…
