DPP is seeking an Avionics Technician II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace industry.

Monday-Thursday 5:00 am to 3:30pm
- Provides hands-on support to Engineering/Production/Manufacturing by performing activities such as, test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electro/mechanical systems.
- Applications may include electronic circuits, power distribution, life/vehicle critical safety systems and battery systems.
- Work is performed from schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions.
- Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
- Performs work in both Laboratory setting as well as work on manufacturing floor or on vehicle depending on manufacturing needs.
- As part of a hardworking team of technicians, you will assemble, repair, and evaluate electrical and mechanical assemblies for various spaceflight systems.
- You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the production, evaluation, and development of Flight-grade Avionics.
- Work in the Avionics Hardware Lab requires a high level of technical proficiency in work such as soldering, component-level board work, mechanical assembly, and assembly wiring.
- This role is part of the Engines, In-Space Systems and Test Ops group and is in Kent but supports all Business Units and groups across all the company’s facilities.

*** in all different environments (development, test and flight). - Assisting with assembly of new and updated designs by working directly with engineering to determine best practices for assembly.
- Giving regular input on manufacturing improvement opportunities or build changes leading to more efficient assembly.
- Serve both internal and external customers across multiple systems and multiple platforms; each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe human spaceflight.
- A focus on safety, collaborative teamwork, and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to create high-quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of mankind.
- Familiarity working in an ESD EPA and with tool control/accountability processes.
- Experience using standard electronics assembly tools, hand soldering and basic electronic test equipment (multimeters and power supplies).
- Experience with applying torque to fasteners/components.
- Fabricating, terminating, and repair/testing of wire harnesses.
- 3 or more years’ experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields.
- Experience inspecting and certifying work performed to relevant standards and specifications.
- Attention to detail and passion for space.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work a 40-hour work week (4x10’s) with occasional overtime to support launch schedules.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Experience with application and removal of polymerics (staking, potting. Encapsulation and conformal coating).
- 5-7 years of experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly fabrication, CCA or PCBA repair or component replacement.
- Experience with energized power/high voltage systems, battery systems or RF assemblies.
- Certification in and/or knowledge of IPC standards for assembly and inspection.
- J-STD/J-STD Space, 610, 7711/7721 Rework and 620/620 Space Addendum.
- Experience and capability to interface with Microsoft Office Suite, electronic work orders and configuration management systems.
- Experience with documenting non-conformances and carrying out dispositioned repairs.
