Electro-Mechanical Technician - Flux Drive
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Electro‑Mechanical Technician to support the rapid growth of the Flux Drive product line and provide hands‑on support to the Engineering Department under the Test Program Manager. This hybrid role combines Solid Works design support, electromechanical assembly, rapid prototyping, and independent field service work at customer sites, including U.S. Naval bases and shipyards.
Responsibilities- Using Solid Works to create, update, and manage 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Performing independent field service work with minimal supervision, including installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Flux Drive couplings and ASD/Smart Drive systems.
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in industrial and naval environments.
- Supporting the Engineering Test Program Manager with prototype builds, test setups, instrumentation, and fixture fabrication.
- Operating 3D printers and supporting rapid prototyping activities for engineering evaluations.
- Creating and updating work instructions, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation.
- Supporting engineering design activities, including prototyping, design reviews, and design improvements.
- Providing on‑site technical feedback to engineering and participating in root cause analysis.
- Performing functional tests, acceptance tests, and first‑article evaluations.
- Traveling periodically to U.S. Naval bases, shipyards, and commercial customer facilities.
- Strong proficiency in Solid Works (parts, assemblies, drawings, configurations).
- Demonstrated ability to perform independent field service work in industrial or naval environments.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Hands‑on experience assembling, repairing, and testing electromechanical systems.
- Familiarity with geared mechanisms, motors, sensors, and control electronics.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to defense contract requirements.
- Background check will be performed.
- 3–7 years of relevant electromechanical experience, including field service, assembly, troubleshooting, or engineering support.
- A technical Bachelor’s degree may substitute for up to 3 years of experience.
