Engineer - GSE & Tooling III

Contract / Onsite Compensation: $115 per hour
• Support test, tooling, and design engineers in the design and CAD activities of test equipment in accordance with Blue Origin and established industry standards
• Design, create, and modify 3D models and drawings of test equipment, fixtures, GSE, tooling, and facilities
• Create and modify test configuration assemblies and develop associated BOMs and drawings
• Create Interface Control Models and Interface Control Drawings
• Create/split conceptual structural models into components, joints, and assemblies
• Incorporate drafting standards and standard drawing notes based on company, program, and industry standards
• Perform model and drawing check activities during release reviews
• Assist in the development of requirements, statements of work, and technical oversight of GSE vendors
• Provide technical recommendations on tooling and equipment design
• Maintain and report on activity schedule and technical status as needed
• Support test engineers in test planning and address questions pertaining to the test setup and load applications for all test load cases from a fixturing perspective
• Experience applying GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards in drawings, ensuring manufacturing and inspection requirements are met
• Familiarity with Windchill or similar configuration management software
• Experience working within a configuration management / engineering change (CN) release process, including taking a design from model creation through formal release
• Development of designs or documentation for umbilical systems, ground support equipment, test fixtures, launch pad structures, or lifting/handling tooling is preferred
