OverviewACRS seeks a full-time in person Counselor II or III in our Recovery Service department who provides advanced counseling and case management services with a commitment to cultural humility, primarily serving the Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (A&NH/PI) communities while also supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. This role requires expertise in substance use disorder treatment, integrated behavioral health, and evidence-based practices.
As a senior-level counselor, this position independently provides clinical guidance to staff, assists with onboarding and mentoring, and supervising Counselor Trainees (SUDPT) in accordance with WAC 246-811, including documentation sign-off and skills development, while ensuring adherence to clinical standards and agency policies. The role emphasizes cultural relevance, diversity, equity, and inclusion in supporting clients through their recovery process.

- Provides integrated and holistic services by independently conducting comprehensive screening and evaluation of individuals to determine treatment needs and making referrals to appropriate internal programs or external community-based services. Provides individual and group counseling to adults experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Serves as the primary case manager for an assigned caseload of up to 30 adults or more.
Serves as the primary case manager for a complex caseload, ensuring coordination of services and continuity of care. Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized treatment plans in alignment with ASAM criteria, regularly reviewing and updating plans to reflect client progress. Provides coordinated services in compliance with relevant State, County, and City standards, including meeting expectations of the applicable systems, including mental health, substance use disorder, and/or problem gambling.
Expected to meet program performance and/or productivity standards. - Coordinates with multidisciplinary staff, courts, probation officers, families, and community organizations to ensure effective service delivery, client follow-up, and cross-system care coordination. Prepares progress reports and completion notices and provides them to the courts, probation departments, and referral sources as appropriate in a timely matter.
- Maintains and audits accurate clinical documentation in accordance with WAC 246-811 and agency policies, including progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, discharge summaries, and required reporting forms. Ensures strict compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Demonstrates advanced proficiency in utilizing the EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) to document, track, and manage client care. Completes all of the required documentation and reports relevant to public payors, such as Medicaid and other third party payors, such as private insurers, in a timely manner.
