Infusion Pharmacist

Infusion Services of Tacoma delivers safe, convenient, and compassionate infusion therapy for individuals with acute and chronic conditions, either at home or in private infusion suites. The team focuses on knowledgeable patient consultation, rapid coordination of care, clear communication, strong patient support, and thorough post-therapy follow-up. Clinical staff members specialize in autoimmune and neurological disorders, immunology, and inflammatory conditions such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Patients are encouraged to relax and feel at ease in a welcoming environment while receiving "white glove" service from a local, community-focused care team.

The Infusion Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site role based near Kent, WA, responsible for overseeing the safe preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of infusion therapies for diverse patient populations. This role includes verifying medication orders, performing clinical assessments for appropriate dosing and compatibility, and preparing sterile admixtures in accordance with USP and state board of pharmacy standards. The Infusion Pharmacist collaborates closely with prescribers, nurses, and other care team members to develop individualized therapy plans, provide medication counseling, and support transitions of care between home and alternate infusion sites.

Day-to-day responsibilities also involve maintaining accurate documentation, managing inventory and cold-chain storage, ensuring regulatory and accreditation compliance, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes. The role requires consistent, professional communication with patients and caregivers to address questions, monitor therapy response, and coordinate follow-up.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should possess strong clinical pharmacy skills, including infusion therapy management, sterile compounding, dose calculation, and medication monitoring.
  • Candidates should possess patient care and communication skills, including counseling, education, empathy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Candidates should possess organizational and technical skills, including accurate documentation, time management, inventory control, and comfort using electronic health records and pharmacy systems.
  • Candidates should possess quality and safety-focused skills, including adherence to regulatory standards, infection control practices, and participation in continuous improvement activities.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree; active and unrestricted pharmacist license in Washington State required.
  • Prior experience in infusion pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or home infusion services strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of autoimmune, immunology, and chronic disease management, with the ability to interpret clinical lab results and adjust therapy as appropriate.
  • Ability to work on-site near Kent, WA, maintain professional standards, and provide reliable, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
