Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and customer-focused Local Dispatcher & Logistics Coordinator to join our growing relocation and transportation team. This position plays a vital role in coordinating daily operations, supporting field crews, and ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
As a key member of our operations team, you will manage daily scheduling and dispatch activities, communicate with customers and crews, monitor job progress, resolve operational challenges, and help maintain a high level of service throughout every move. Success in this role requires strong leadership, sound decision-making, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
Key ResponsibilitiesDispatch & Operations Coordination
- Schedule and dispatch crews, vehicles, equipment, and materials to meet daily operational needs
- Monitor job progress throughout the day and adjust schedules as necessary
- Maintain continuous communication with crew leaders regarding job status, customer concerns, delays, and operational updates
- Ensure all jobs are properly staffed and equipped for successful completion
- Assist in coordinating local and long-distance household goods moves
Customer & Crew Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and field personnel
- Communicate job information, updates, and expectations clearly and professionally
- Support crews with operational questions, scheduling concerns, and problem resolution
- Promote a positive customer experience through timely communication and effective service recovery
Quality Control & Accountability
- Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, appearance, and adherence to company policies
- Reinforce operational procedures, service standards, and safety expectations
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to verify cleanliness, maintenance needs, and overall readiness
- Identify operational issues and work with management to implement solutions
Administrative Responsibilities
- Process job-related information and maintain accurate electronic records
- Enter notes, updates, and operational documentation into company systems
- Assist with payment processing, move charge calculations, and related documentation
- Support reporting and other administrative functions as needed
The ideal candidate is a dependable leader who can confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. You should be comfortable making decisions, solving problems, and working closely with both customers and employees.
Preferred Qualifications- Previous dispatching, logistics, transportation, scheduling, or operations experience
- Experience in the moving, relocation, transportation, or service industry is a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and scheduling software
- Ability to work collaboratively with field personnel and management
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to occasionally assist with operational activities when necessary
