Our Site Leader is responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives. The Site Leader is responsible for all aspects of operations at the site, leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and fostering leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.
Responsibilities- Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed the business plan.
- Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
- Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable for their performance and that of their departments.
- Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and rolling them into improvement plans for the functional area.
- Takes proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and the network.
- Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other senior Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, and provide needed support for other staff initiatives.
- Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each.
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
- Walk in the FC and around the area with great frequency; the facility is over a quarter mile in length.
- Stand and/or walk continually an average of 5 miles daily.
- Work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, not air‑conditioned.
- Access all areas of the building safely, including ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways without limitation.
- Experience in a global supply chain, manufacturing, production/ procurement, distribution, logistics or related environment/operations.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, commerce, business administration or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
- Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance‑management, promotions and terminations.
- 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
- Flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in engineering, operations, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience leading large contingent workforce programs.
- Experience working in fast‑paced environments and managing workload even during times of stress or escalated activity.
- Experience hiring candidates, mentoring and developing employees in their careers.
