At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective where individuality is encouraged to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You'll have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Our Program, Project and Commercial Management (PPM) team works across some of the most exciting and complex projects in infrastructure, transportation, science and industry, technology, healthcare and the built environment. We support clients as trusted advisors, lead owner-side project management commissions and help deliver multidisciplinary design projects that improve communities and create lasting value.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Project and Commercial Manager to join our growing PPM team and help lead the delivery of complex and high-profile projects across the region.

This role combines project management leadership with strong commercial and project controls capability. You may lead owner-side project management commissions, manage multidisciplinary design delivery projects, or support major programs that require robust governance, commercial management and project controls expertise.

Working directly with clients, Project Directors, technical leaders, contractors and key stakeholders, you will help shape project strategy, navigate complexity and drive successful outcomes from project inception through delivery.

This is an opportunity to influence major projects, mentor the next generation of project professionals and contribute to the continued growth of Arup's Program, Project and Commercial Management offering.

  • Lead the planning, governance and delivery of complex projects and programs.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead owner-side project management commissions and multidisciplinary design delivery projects.
  • Develop project delivery strategies and establish effective reporting and governance frameworks.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate specialist consultants and technical disciplines.
  • Provide commercial leadership, including contract administration, financial management, change management and risk management.
  • Oversee project controls activities, including forecasting, performance monitoring, schedule management and project reporting.
  • Review project performance, identify risks and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support pursuits, proposals and business development activities.
  • Mentor and develop project managers, project controls professionals and commercial team members

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective - in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning - to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, program management, commercial management, project controls or construction management.
  • PMP, RICS/MRICS, CCM, or equivalent project or commercial management certification, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex engineering, infrastructure, construction or professional services projects.
  • Experience with alternative project delivery methods, including design-build, progressive design-build, CM/GC, and public-private partnership (P3) projects are preferable.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, project controls, commercial management and financial performance.
  • Experience working with senior clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience managing project risk, commercial issues and delivery challenges in a collaborative and pragmatic manner.
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship-management skills.
  • A strategic mindset combined with a hands‑on approach to project delivery.
  • A desire to mentor others and contribute to the growth of a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is a must. Demonstrable experience using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) and Primavera P6 are an advantage.
