CNC Machinist / Programmer

Our client in the Kent, WA area has an opening for a CNC Machinist/ Programmer. The client runs a full-service precision machine shop that specializes in complex operations and serves the Aerospace sector.
Keltia is a technical support services company providing Engineering Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace and other industries in WA State, around the US, Canada and Europe. We have been in business for over 20 years in the US and 9 years in Europe.
Position purpose/core responsibilities:
Our client is in need of a skilled machinist with around 2 to 4 years CNC machine experience who knows how to effectively use Siemens NX or equivalent CAD software to augment the machining process. Preference will be given to those who have experience operating the following machines or equivalent:
Machinist
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Setting up and running the following: NC Mills and NC Lathes
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings and blueprints including true positioning and conventional tolerancing.
- Reading and following production planning.
- Running jobs close to tolerances of +/- .001".
- Maintaining a rejection rate of less than 2%.
- Using precision measuring instruments to check work.

CNC Programmer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop CNC programs Based off of Siemens NX Models for production runs.
- Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.
- Modify existing programs for different machines.
- Maintain tooling database.
- Make manual program adjustments, as necessary.
- Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus.
