Job Title

Aerospace Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector - 1st Shift

Job Overview

Position Summary:

This is an Inspector trainee position in our Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) department. Employees will become certified NDT Inspectors and will be trained to work independently in Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, and Nital Etch disciplines. All Inspectors must join the FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program. Work will be performed in accordance with Military and OEM specifications.

Schedule Type

1st Shift – Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Hytek operates 24 hours, but this shift is the first shift).

Location & Work Hours

On‑site, Kent, WA;
Non‑Exempt, Full‑Time.

Salary Range

$21.00 – $32.00 per hour.

Requirements
  • Applicants must provide a copy of their NAS‑410 Level II Certificate(s) in Magnetic Particle and/or Liquid Penetrant.
  • All relevant on‑the‑job training hours must be included upon submission.
  • Must be able to pass the FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Valid Level III NDT Responsible certification in all three disciplines is required before working independently.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with experienced Inspectors and NDT Level III Responsible to complete tasks and prioritize work.
  • Follow technique cards, customer purchase orders, and instructions from experienced NDT Inspectors; confirm that operator self‑verification inspection has been completed.
  • Review paperwork and operator self‑verification to ensure all previous operations were completed; notify supervisor and QA if any errors.
  • Prepare parts prior to operations; use proper tooling and fixtures when applicable.
