Job Description
The Environmental Technician safely consolidates, treats, stores, packs, transports, and disposes of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible and compliant practices, policies, and procedures. This role supports industrial cleaning, wastewater treatment, spill response, and facility services while maintaining detailed and accurate records. The position offers meaningful hands-on work in the environmental field and provides clear opportunities for career growth within the organization.
Responsibilities
+ Consolidate, treat, store, pack, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, company policies, and established procedures.
+ Perform industrial cleaning and pressure washing activities in and around facilities as required.
+ Support wastewater treatment operations, including handling and processing of materials in a safe and compliant manner.
+ Respond to spills and participate in spill response activities to contain, clean, and properly manage hazardous materials.
+ Provide facility services such as site cleanup, yard work, and general labor to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
+ Complete all required documentation accurately, legibly, and on time, following regulatory requirements and customer policies, practices, and procedures.
+ Operate equipment safely and efficiently, following training and safety guidelines.
+ Use visual acuity to read labels and documentation and apply depth perception to perform tasks safely and accurately.
+ Monitor and respond to vehicle warning chimes and alarms to maintain a safe working environment.
+ Work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled areas as needed.
+ Wear and properly use company-issued personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
+ Perform other reasonably related tasks and duties as assigned by management to support operational needs.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 2 years of prior experience working with hazardous materials.
+ High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
+ Experience performing general labor, site cleanup, and environmental field work.
+ Comfort operating equipment safely in an industrial or field environment.
+ Ability to complete documentation accurately, timely, and legibly in accordance with regulations and customer requirements.
+ Ability to work outdoors in all seasonal climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments.
+ Visual acuity sufficient to read labels and documentation and depth perception to perform tasks safely.
+ Ability to hear and respond to vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
+ Willingness and ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
+ Readiness to perform industrial cleaning, pressure washing, wastewater treatment support, spill response, and facility services.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Hazwoper experience or training;
Hazwoper certification is a plus.
+ Prior experience in industrial cleaning, pressure washing, or wastewater treatment.
+
Experience with spill response and hazardous waste handling in an environmental field setting.
+ Comfort working in outdoor and yard work environments in varying weather conditions.
+ Motivation to grow within the organization, with opportunities to advance into leadership and operational roles.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, compliant work practices.
+ Ability to follow instructions, adapt to changing tasks, and support a variety of operational needs.
Work Environment
This role is primarily outdoors and involves working in seasonal elements, including rain, heat, cold, and other weather conditions, as well as indoors in non-climate-controlled facilities. The schedule currently runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the possibility of shifting to 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and eventually a night shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., depending on operational needs.
The position involves industrial cleaning, pressure washing, wastewater treatment support, spill response, and facility services, often in active industrial or yard environments. Team members use a variety of industrial equipment and must consistently wear company-issued personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and a respirator. The work environment supports professional growth, with clear pathways for advancement into more sr operational and leadership roles.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $23.25/hr.
