Job Description
The Assistant Masker packages and wraps finished aerospace products while supporting masking operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain entry into the aerospace industry, with the potential for long-term growth in areas such as anodizing, plating, or masking. You will work as part of a collaborative team, assist in various shop duties, and be cross‑trained to support multiple production functions.
Responsibilities- Package and wrap finished aerospace products according to written instructions and quality standards.
- Assist with masking parts to prepare them for metal finishing, coating, or other processing steps.
- Follow detailed written instructions, work orders, and process documentation to complete tasks accurately.
- Support both packaging and masking areas and participate in cross‑training to perform duties in multiple departments.
- Operate production and machine equipment safely as needed to support manufacturing activities.
- Work effectively in a fast‑paced production facility, meeting daily output and quality expectations.
- Perform general shop duties outside of core warehouse tasks, including cleaning and maintaining a safe and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and ensure smooth workflow across the facility.
- Adhere to established safety procedures, manufacturing standards, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately.
- Previous experience working in a fast‑paced production or manufacturing facility.
- Experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Willingness to perform additional shop duties outside of warehouse tasks, including cleanup and general support.
- Strong teamwork mindset and ability to help wherever needed within the production area.
- Attention to detail when packaging, wrapping, and masking parts to meet quality requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift certification is a plus and may be used to support material handling activities.
- Experience in general manufacturing, assembly, or production work.
- Interest in learning and cross‑training in anodizing, plating, and masking processes.
- Comfort working in a structured, lean manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Ability to adapt to different tasks and responsibilities as production needs change.
The pay range for this position is $18.50 – $18.50/hr.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.
Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a spacious, modern plating and metal finishing facility that supports a full range of processing services in one location, helping streamline logistics and reduce lead times. The operation utilizes lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods, and supports a variety of processes including mechanical treatments (such as shot peen, polish, and abrasive blast), aluminum processing (anodize chemistries, chemical conversion coating, and hard anodize), electrolytic plating (including chrome, titanium cadmium, cadmium, and zinc‑nickel), coatings and paints (primers, fuel tank coatings, topcoats, dry lubricants, and intumescent coatings), and non‑destructive testing (fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle, and nital etch), as well as other specialized processes like zinc spray, magnesium processing, and passivation.
The facility serves aerospace, defense, industrial, recreational, commercial, and electronics customers across North America and Europe.
