Laser Operator
Shift: 10 AM - 2 PM, Monday–Friday.
Flat pattern laser experience preferred.
Entry‑level machine experience preferred with strong mechanical aptitude.
Applies basic laser operator processes for sheet‑metal aircraft components as specified by written instructions, schedules, and drawings. Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities- Complete basic tasks while applying standard practices.
- Perform setups and operations using fiber and/or YAG CNC lasers on production hardware.
- Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings, and documents.
- Identify machine alignment problems with direct oversight.
- Use precision instruments to check tolerances and the quality of parts.
- Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
- Learn to troubleshoot minor program errors independently when working under limited oversight.
- Read and understand manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints, and sketches.
- Apply relevant mathematics.
- Familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments, and good manual dexterity.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches.
Desired skills (not required):
- Familiarity with machine tools and precision instruments.
- Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Use of protective clothing, glasses, and other equipment to prevent burns and eye injuries.
Physical RequirementsRequires considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, including climbing, lifting up to pounds, balancing, and handling of material.
