Packaging Specialist

Location:

Kent, WA

Pay Rate: $21.75/hour

Shift: 1st Shift

Job Summary

The Packaging Specialist works multiple positions on the production line, including Slide Operator, Pouch Placer, Boxer, Bread Layer, and Bulk Packer. The role is responsible for ensuring quality packaging, monitoring product flow, and supporting safety and production standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Rotate efficiently to all assigned packaging positions.
  • Accurately count and stack products in boxes and on conveyor lines.
  • Perform quality checks on products moving through the line, from freezer to packing.
  • Remove products from conveyor line and stack into boxes for shipment.
  • Monitor Metal Detector for critical food safety measures.
  • Load, tape, and prepare boxes for transport; use cartoner and stacking equipment as needed.
  • Operate taping and stamping equipment, including code changes.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and compliant work environment according to Safety, Food Safety (SQF), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Report any food safety concerns to proper personnel.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance, including working overtime if required.
  • Perform other production-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to consistently follow plant standards for quality, productivity, and attendance.
  • Clear communication skills—verbal and written.
  • Ability to work as a team, show respect, and follow instructions closely.
  • Willingness and flexibility to rotate through multiple roles and shifts.
  • High attention to safety and ability to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Able to report food safety problems and contribute to warehouse improvement.
  • Physically able to lift, stack, and move products/boxes as required.
  • Free from communicable foodborne illnesses and able to pass food safety requirements.
  • Capable of working independently and managing time effectively.
  • Must be able to work overtime and variable hours as needed.
