Using hand and power tools, scribe, grind, punch, deburr, fit, and drill a variety of sheet metal detail parts, sub-assemblies or complete units by adjusting alignment and mating pieces to ordinary tolerances.
- May perform sizing, riveting, reaming, spot welding, seam welding, poke tacking and braze preparation.
- Detect and provide input for resolution to faulty operations.
- May prepare and develop schedules on spot welding, seam welding, riveting and fastener installation.
- May do tig-tacking for assembly purposes.
- Perform repairs such as small dents and scratches.
- Maintains thorough understanding of how the work being done produces a quality part.
- Maintain clean, organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Check for prescribed dimensions in jigs, fixtures or with calipers, micrometers, height gages and other inspection devices.
- Follow and accurately interpret written instructions, drawings, planning, sketches and best practice worksheets.
- Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning (including correct quantities) and paperless timecard system.
- Train others on prior job experience.
- Work under limited oversight.
- Able to read and understand manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints and sketches.
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knows where to find this information at EMFD and asks for help when necessary.
- Must be able to use mathematics relevant to functions.
- Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.
- Requires the ability to follow demonstrated steps.
- Working understanding of how product flows in and out of the work area and its impact.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.
Use of protective clothing, glasses, and other equipment to prevent burns and eye injuries.

Competitive Compensation- Pay Range: $22.00/hr to $33.80/hr
