The Production Control Clerk supports manufacturing operations by compiling, tracking, and maintaining production data to ensure efficient workflow and accurate reporting. This role plays a critical part in coordinating production activities, monitoring material usage, and helping maintain consistent output in a fast‑paced aerospace precision machining environment.
Essential Functions- Analyze production metrics including materials used, scrap rates and patterns, departmental productivity, and aging work in process.
- Monitor material inventory levels and assist in maintaining adequate supply to support uninterrupted production.
- Conduct inventory cycle count to ensure system accuracy.
- Track and update machine load schedules to ensure balanced workflow and optimal equipment utilization.
- Assist in production flow by ensuring parts move smoothly through the company, identifying bottlenecks, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of all production records and reports.
- Assist planning in delivering controlled documents to the shop.
- Perform other tasks and assignments as required.
- Maintain regular on‑site attendance at the workplace.
- U.S. citizen.
- U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder).
- Protected person (as defined by regulation).
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in manufacturing, production control, or a similar field.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably within aerospace or precision machining.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
- Ability to analyze data and generate accurate reports.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Critical thinking, problem‑solving, and time‑management abilities.
- Experience with production scheduling or inventory control systems is preferred.
- Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility; sit for long periods working on a computer.
- Occasionally lift, carry (short distances), and push or pull up to 50 pounds with assistance or equipment.
- Occasionally reach overhead and reach out or down to perform duties.
- Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel.
- Excessive noise (hearing protection required).
- Dust, smoke, mist, fumes or vapors (regular exposure).
- Extreme temperatures (occasional exposure).
- Hazardous equipment such as forklifts, hand tools, cranes, or other lifting devices (continuous exposure).
The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and safety footwear, is required.
