Assistant – Grave Shift
This role focuses on packaging and wrapping finished aerospace products in a fast-paced production environment. You will support multiple areas of the shop, assist where needed, and have the opportunity to cross-train in anodizing, plating, and masking. This position offers an excellent entry point into the aerospace industry with potential for long-term growth.
Responsibilities- Package and wrap finished aerospace products accurately and safely according to written instructions and quality standards.
- Work as a team player and assist in various areas of the shop as needed to support production goals.
- Cross-train in both packaging and masking operations and apply these skills as production needs change.
- Perform general shop duties beyond core packaging tasks, including basic clean-up and housekeeping to maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Operate production and machine equipment as assigned, following all safety and operating procedures.
- Follow detailed written instructions, work orders, and process guidelines to ensure consistent and compliant output.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices by maintaining efficiency and minimizing waste.
- Handle parts and materials carefully to prevent damage and ensure proper identification and traceability.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing facility.
- Willingness to perform additional shop duties outside of core warehouse tasks, including clean-up and general support.
- Machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Reliability and consistency in following safety procedures and production standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is a strong plus.
- Experience in general manufacturing, assembly, or production environments.
- Interest in learning anodizing, plating, masking, and other metal finishing processes.
- Comfort working in a structured, lean manufacturing environment with continuous improvement practices.
- Attention to detail when handling and packaging precision aerospace components.

WorkEnvironment
The role is based in a spacious, modern plating and metal finishing facility that supports aerospace, defense, commercial, recreational, industrial, and electronics markets. The site offers a full range of processing services in one location, including mechanical processes such as shot peen, polish, and abrasive blast; aluminum processing with multiple anodize chemistries, chemical conversion coating, and hard anodize; electrolytic plating including chrome, titanium cadmium, cadmium, zinc-nickel, and other finishes;
coatings and paints such as primers, fuel tank coatings, topcoats, dry lubricants, and intumescent coatings; and non-destructive testing including fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle, and nital etch. Additional processes include zinc spray, magnesium processing, and passivation. The facility operates as a lean manufacturing environment with continuous improvement methods in place. You will work around production machinery, metal finishing equipment, and various chemical and coating processes in a structured, process-driven setting, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.60/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
