Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Aerospace Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing manufacturing plans, ensuring compliance with aerospace quality requirements, supporting production operations, and maintaining customer and regulatory standards. This position serves as the liaison between manufacturing, inspection, and customers to ensure products are produced efficiently and conform to all contractual, drawing, and specification requirements.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements.
- Develop and maintain inspection plans, quality control procedures, and work instructions.
- Interpret aerospace standards including AS9100, customer specifications, and industry requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA) for internal and customer nonconformances.
- Lead investigations using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA.
- Integrate testing workflows into Dev Ops practices to support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Monitor key quality metrics including scrap, rework, first-pass yield, and on-time delivery.
- Review requirements gathering documents and participate in Agile or Waterfall SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes for comprehensive quality assurance.
- Coordinate calibration systems and measurement equipment compliance.
- Create manufacturing routers and process plans from engineering drawings and customer requirements.
- Coordinate outside processing requirements including heat treat, plating, NDT, and coatings.
- Manage DPD (digital product definition) program and procedures.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, machining, quality engineering, or production planning.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems..
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Familiarity with precision machining processes including CNC turning, milling, grinding, and inspection.
- Understanding of CMM inspections (CMM Manager a plus).
- Familiarity with Catia and FAIR's Per AS9102
Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
