The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant in the Division of Allergy & Immunology at the Department of Paediatrics, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine
. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team, working on clinical translational research in vaccine immunology. This position offers a stimulating and intellectually enriching environment, providing opportunities for professional growth and development. Appointments will be made on an annual contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.
The Research Assistant will be responsible for, and collaborate with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to conduct various research projects in the field of Paediatric Vaccine Immunology to achieve high quality and impactful deliverables. Specific roles include inventory keeping for reagents and clinical samples, design and conduct of immunological experiments and data analysis.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Research Assistant will be involved in conducting laboratory assays under the supervision of the Research Fellow (RF) and will be accountable to the Principal Investigator (PI). The duties include but are not limited to:
- Routine lab work and maintenance
- Molecular biology work
- Tissue/Cell culture
- Immunological work (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry)
- Have a Bachelors in biochemistry, molecular & cell biology, bioengineering, biomedical science or a related field;
- Have at least 2-3 years of working experience;
- Have some experience in molecular biology, immunological techniques and tissue/cell culture;
- Be able to work independently and in a team, possess an investigative nature, attention to detail, and be self‑motivated with initiative;
- Have outstanding organisational skills and interpersonal skills;
- Have some previous exposure to data analysis platforms such as Graph Pad Prism, Flow Jo, R or Python.
