During a shift, you will be assigned to any of our departments, depending on our customer and/or business needs. At the direction of store management, you may work in any or all the following areas:

  • Front end of the store: selling merchandise and assisting customers through the checkout process.
  • Sales floor:
    Meat/Frozen department, Produce/Dairy department;
    Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply department.
  • Replenishing freight and rotating product in any department.

You may also assist during special store events, such as Vendor Fairs, sales floor resets, and inventory processes.

The starting rate is $19.66/hr.

Looking for someone with the flexibility to work Monday - Sunday based on business need between the hours of 5:00am and 7:00pm.

Freight Handling experience is a plus.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Front End
  • Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF’STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store’s customers. Utilize all tools and skills learned in the CHEF’STORE Way training and model the behavior in the store.
  • Perform sales and cash functions in the POS efficiently and accurately, scanning merchandise with a handheld scan gun or keypad, weighing product on counter top scales as necessary, and looking up any product that will not scan. Ensure that each item’s barcode is accurately reflected in the system and report discrepancies to Front End Lead or Manager of Day (MOD).
  • Perform cart‑to‑cart transfer of all products at checkout, including a visual inspection to look for product tampering.
  • Serve as a receipt checker, verifying cart content versus purchases as customers leave the store.
  • Help with front end store opening and/or closing functions based on assigned shift.
Sales Floor and Stocking
  • Focus on increasing sales and managing shrinkage; assist customers in finding needed products and inform them of available services.
  • Assist in receiving inventory shipments and maintain and stock shelves in a neat, orderly fashion while ensuring proper rotation and product quality.
  • Ensure all merchandise is properly labeled, including blaster tagging unscannable items, applying catch‑weight labels to all pound‑sold merchandise, and affixing PLU tags to produce items.
  • Replenish sales floor daily by down‑stacking freight from top stock, ensuring oldest product is stocked first (FIFO). Use pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other equipment as needed.
  • Use Microsoft Word and Excel and proprietary software as required.
  • Maintain visible, accessible, and appealing product placement.
  • Assist with price changes as directed by the Pricing Lead and Store Management.
  • Participate in inventory and cycle count processes as needed.
Customer Courtesy
  • Maintain a well‑maintained, safe environment for staff and customers by following safety policies and practices. Notify management of safety issues and correct if possible.
  • Ensure cleanliness of sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and store entry area.
  • Gather carts from the parking lot and cart corrals, return them to the designated area, ensuring all are clean and operable.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Store Management.
