Salary Range: $24.00 To $30.00 Hourly
OVERVIEWAssists in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and support structures and related telecommunications equipment. Tower Technicians work irregular hours, travel frequently, and work at great heights in extreme weather conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Climbsandworksoncommunicationstowers forthepurposeofinstalling,replacing,andrepairingantennasystemsequipment;performstowermaintenanceunderclosesupervision.
- Thebasicuseandcareofhandtoolsandmechanicalequipment.
- Knowsthe hazardsassociatedwithtowerclimbing,construction equipment,andworkingonor nearenergizedlinesand equipment.
- Theabilitytoclimbtallstructures(100 feetormore) with
50lb.load. - Analyzessituationsaccuratelyandadoptsanappropriatecourseofaction.
- Communicatesorallyandinwriting.
- Followsinstructionsaccuratelyandcompleteassignedcourseofaction.
- Recognizessafetyhazards andperformingdutiesinasafemanner.
- Maintains clean,orderlyenvironmentadheringtocompanypoliciesandindustryregulation/standard(s)(OSHA)
- Knowledgeofbasictowerriggingtechniques.
- Assistswithtestingprocedures(sweeps,PIM, fibertestingetc.)
- Proficientwithinstallationofantennas,RRH’s,ground kits,RETsystems.
- Runsrequiredlinestotopofthetower;groundscoaxlinesandbuildsdifferentsizesandtypesofconnectors.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Knowledgeofbasiccomputerskills.
- Self-motivatedandabletolearnquickly.
- Abilitytolift over
70pounds.
- Musthave Highschooldiplomaorequivalent.
- 1to2yearsofindustryexperience.
- Goodreadingandwriting skills(English)
- Basiccomputerskills.
- Clean Driving Recordandvalid Driver 'sLicense(amust) andreliabletransportationtoand fromwork.
- Mustbeabletoaccommodateoutoftowntravel,if required.
- Workingknowledgeofbasichandtools,mechanical equipment,andelectro-mechanical equipment.
- Current Com Trainorequivalentcertificationin Tower Climbing Safetyand Rescue Certificationrequiredandwilling tobe trained assuch.
- Com Train, OSHA
10, RF Awareness Training, First AID/CPR trained.
