About this positionOVERVIEW:
Leads and assists in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and support structures and related telecommunications equipment. Leads by example to facilitate timely job completion. Tower Technicians work irregular hours, travel frequently, and work at great heights in extreme weather conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Climbsandworksoncommunicationstowers forthepurposeofinstalling,replacing,andrepairingantennasystemsequipment.
Thebasicuseandcareofhandtoolsandmechanicalequipment.
Safety Management-ensurescrewmembersareincompliancewithcompanyandcustomersafetyrequirements.
Verifiesandensuresalltoolsand rigginggear aresafe touse.
Completesrequireddaily Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s).Executesandmanages,if required.
Knows the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or nearenergizedlinesand equipment.
Theabilitytoclimbtallstructures(100 feetormore) with
50lb.load.
Fullunderstandingofajob orproject Scopeof Work(SOW).Abilitytodevelopandwriteadetailed Methodof Procedure (MOP) forajob/project.
Analyzessituationsaccuratelyandadoptanappropriatecourseofaction.
Solidcommunicationskills, bothorallyandinwriting.
Followsinstructionsaccuratelyandcompleteassignedcourse ofaction.
Recognizessafetyhazards andperformingdutiesinasafemanner.
Maintains clean,orderlyenvironmentadheringtocompanypoliciesandindustryregulation/standard(s)(OSHA)
Experiencedwithcustomtowerriggingtechniques.
Performstapedrops.
Proficientwithalltestequipment(sweeps,PIM,fibertestingetc.)PerformsGPSantennaalignment(SunsightAAT)
Proficientwithinstallationofantennas,RRH’s,ground kits,RETsystems.
TroubleshootingRETsystems–bottom.
Runsrequiredlinestotopofthetower;groundscoaxlinesandbuildsdifferentsizesandtypesofconnectors.
Stackstowers,installssectormounts.
Basicknowledgeofmicrowavedishandradio installations
Recognizessafetyhazards andperformsdutiesinasafemanner.
Abilitytoleada4-mantowercrewsafelyandwithinestablishedbudgetaryrequirements.
Ensuresjobsarecompletedfully,meetallcompanyandcustomerqualitystandardsandallCOPrequirementsare complying.
Safelyrunsawinch/cathead.
TroubleshootsGPSantennas
Troubleshootstowerlightingsystems.
TMA GaintestingexperienceRFnoisefloortestingexperience
Actasateamleadandmentortolessexperienced Tower Technicians.
