Role Description The Commercial Electrician role at Volmech is a full-time, on-site position based in Kent, WA. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards. The role involves reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications, performing testing and commissioning, diagnosing faults, and completing routine and preventative maintenance. The Commercial Electrician will collaborate with project managers, other trades, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality expectations.
The position also requires accurate documentation of work performed, adherence to safety procedures, and participation in inspections and compliance activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in commercial electrical installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and commissioning.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and best practices for commercial environments.
- Experience using electrical tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments safely and effectively.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with project teams, contractors, and clients.
- Proven ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and complete projects with high attention to detail.
- Relevant electrician license or certification for commercial work, and completion of an approved apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites in the Kent, WA area as required.
- Experience in building services, M&E projects, or similar commercial environments is beneficial.
