Mobile Diesel Technician Level II
Shift: Monday through Friday - Variable Shift

Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, and differentials.
- Diagnose, adjust and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, air conditioning systems, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches and differentials.
- Inspect, test and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using tools such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
- Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper functioning.
- Identify problems, determine accuracy of information and generate/evaluate alternatives using sound judgment.
- Independently manage parts inventory and reconcile equipment on company‑issued service truck.
- Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle; conduct safety checks and pre/post trip inspections.
- Work with and listen effectively to clients and customers to assess needs and resolve problems.
- Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work activities and time allocations.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks.
- Document work according to company standards and upload photos, parts used and findings via company‑issued iOS device and TRAIT application.
- Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain a high level of productivity to meet standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as required.
- Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates and discuss RO findings.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Possess and supply required hand tools.
- Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
- Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening, DOT physical, or submit valid DOT medical card with >4 months validity.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Hold a valid driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File.
- Safe driving record required.
- ASE T8 (PMI) certification.

- ASE T5 (Suspension) certification.
- ASE T6 (Electrical & Electronic Systems) certification.
