Position Description
Ryder is hiring Temporary to Permanent Warehouse Material Handlers in Kent, Washington – offering weekly pay and a career you can feel good about.
Pay and Benefits- Hourly Pay: $20.50 per hour
- Overtime Pay: $30.75 per hour when working overtime
- Schedule:
Monday - Saturday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm or until work is finished (5‑day week; off on Sundays and one other day M‑F TBD) - On‑the‑job paid training
- Safety gear supplied and safety is a top priority
- State‑of‑the‑art equipment and caring leadership
- Products handled: boxed furniture and exercise equipment
- Equipment used: cherry picker/order picker, walkie‑rider pallet jack, RF scanner
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
- Valid forklift operator's license, certified
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be punctual with a good attendance record
- Performs work independently with minimal supervision
- Possesses a high degree of initiative and self‑motivation
- High accuracy and attention to detail, even under pressure
- Must be able to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods
- Works safely using health‑and‑safety methods and a flexible schedule on various shifts
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities- Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
- Follow performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
- Accurately pick, pack, audit, tote‑induce, stage products, and load/unload trucks.
- Manage day‑to‑day paperwork in a warehouse environment (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
- Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing system during core shift hour of production.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
