Senior Accountant

About the position:

Bruns Construction is currently seeking a highly-motivated, dynamic individual to join our accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for advancement within the field and to take their career to the next level. This opportunity will be based out of our St. Henry or Celina, Ohio office. Main duties will include assisting with the general ledger and company’s financial processes to ensure accuracy and effectiveness for our growing company.

Must be accountable and motivated to ensure the accounting team achieves monthly goals and deadlines. Other duties will be assigned as the individual progresses and gains familiarity of the company.

• Oversee various accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate month end and year end closing processes for multiple entities and divisions
• Ensure reconciliations are prepared monthly/quarterly for all balance sheet accounts with supporting documentation when applicable
• Oversee various tax filings and payments (real estate, sales, CAT, etc)
• Coordinate financial, bank, tax, insurance and other audits as required
• Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
• Support intercompany and related party billing and reconciliation
• Manage inventory of multiple divisions and warehouses
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
• At least 5 years accounting/financial analysis experience
• Cost accounting experience is preferred, public accounting experience is a plus
• Must have strong communication, organizational, time management and analytical skills
• Ability to learn and navigate ERP systems
• Ability to create necessary reports from management requests
• Ability to manage stressful situations and tight deadlines with professional demeanor
