We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a long-term contract position based in Russell Springs, Kentucky. This role will handle core accounting activities such as reconciliations, transaction recording, reporting, and invoice support while helping maintain accurate and compliant financial records. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across teams to resolve issues, strengthen processes, and provide dependable financial information.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounts payable activity, including entering invoices and helping ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Complete account reconciliations and review balance sheet activity to identify discrepancies and support accurate reporting.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end close by preparing entries, validating financial data, and maintaining organized documentation.
• Assist with the preparation of reports related to accounts payable, diversity tracking, and other recurring financial reporting needs.
• Investigate unmatched receipts, open invoices, and payment variances, then follow through to resolve outstanding items.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining clear and accurate records of financial transactions.
• Support tax preparation, audit activities, and quarterly physical inventory counts by gathering data and coordinating required documentation.
• Review employee expense submissions, reconcile related records, and assist with travel arrangement coordination as needed.
• Partner with internal teams to improve accounting workflows, strengthen financial controls, and provide analysis that supports business decisions.
