About the role Binsky is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Ewing, New Jersey. What you'll do
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by reconciling accounts and preparing necessary journal entries.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
  • Help in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights based on historical data and current trends.
  • Collaborate with the accounts payable and receivable teams to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Conduct regular audits of financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in tax preparation and compliance, ensuring all filings are completed accurately and on time.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits, preparing documentation and responding to inquiries as needed.
  • Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities to enhance accounting knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to foster collaboration and support organizational goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (experience with Quick Books or similar platforms is a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and concise reporting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn.
  • Previous internship or work experience in an accounting role is preferred but not mandatory.
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or advanced accounting software.
  • Certification or coursework towards CPA or similar professional designation.
  • Multilingual skills can be an advantage in a diverse workplace.
