Location: This is a hybrid position at one of our three on-site locations in Kentucky, Tennessee, or Pennsylvania.
JOB SUMMARYThe Staff Accountant III will be responsible for ensuring a high degree of accuracy in a wide variety of general accounting tasks of complex difficulty requiring the use of significant independent judgement. The role requires the candidate to be detail-oriented, quick learner, problem solver, collaborative, and focused on getting the job done with excellence. Assignments are given in general terms and are subject to review upon completion.
ESSENTIALDUTIES
- Perform financial close process including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, maintaining subledger, and other analyses under SOX
- Perform reconciliation and review/prepare invoices/memos for adjudicated gross to net transactions
- Prepare, validate, and process quarterly sales commission files for sales representatives, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company compensation plans.
- Maintain ownership of quarterly sales commission files, performing detailed reviews, reconciliations, and calculations to support timely and accurate commission payments to sales representatives.
- Maintains fixed assets by reviewing expenditures for fixed asset purchases, entering into system, running depreciation and reconciling to the general ledger.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data
- Support external reporting process and SEC deadlines
- Maintains financial security by establishing and adhering to internal controls.
- Assist with quarterly and annual audits performed by internal and external auditors.
- Proactively identify issues, drive continuous improvement, optimize and automate processes/systems
- Provide support for special projects, initiatives, and analyses
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field plus;
- 3-6 years of applicable accounting experience and/or demonstrated ability to perform complex level functions relevant to the position with minimal supervision
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office (specifically Excel), accounting software and databases
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, SOX and SEC reporting requirements
- Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate events, prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion
- Oracle EBS knowledge a plus
- Pharmaceutical industry knowledge preferred but not required
No Supervisory Duties. May mentor or direct the work of lower-level accountants and/or student interns.
WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
POSITIONS TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a full-time position with general hours of work during day shift hours.
TRAVELThis position may require travel to various locations within the organizational structure, to training and meetings, etc.
