Position
Purpose:
Blue Canyon Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our growing company. This person will work independently under the direction of the BCT Chief Financial Officer. This position will lead a talented group of accounting professionals to ensure established accounting policies and procedures are followed. The Controller oversees accounting functions and demonstrates expertise in company-wide systems and processes.
The Controller is responsible for ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP and requirements from the parent company.

On-site position at our Lafayette, CO location (work locations are subject to change based on business need).

- Manage all aspects of corporate accounting operations including: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, cash/treasury management, tax management
- Oversee the month-end, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
Plan and execute according to priorities and understanding of transaction cycles. - Oversee timely and accurate trial balance reporting and filing deadlines.
- Assist with implementation of ERP and improving functionality for new accounting functions.
- Maintain knowledge in US GAAP, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Research technical accounting topics and propose solutions.
- Critically evaluate accounting problems and questions, and confidently propose solutions, after considering GAAP, company policies, company Disclosure Statements, and assessed risk.
Communicate solutions appropriate for the audience. - Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures in compliance with policies, inclusive of parent company policies and procedures.
- Independently identify, evaluate, and implement improvements to company accounting practices, internal controls, efficiency and reporting to increase productivity.
Communicate thoroughly with other BCT employees and others outside the company in this process. - Supervise accounting professionals.
Assign responsibilities appropriately in accordance with experience and skill set. Complete annual written evaluations of direct reports. - Complete special projects as determined by CFO and BCT senior executives.

- Plan, organize, and oversee the work of employees engaged in a variety of accounting functions.
- Manage remote employees effectively.
- Train and support career development for direct reports.
- Review and evaluate performance, recommending compensation increases and/or disciplinary action for direct reports.
- Train direct reports and staff on accounting procedures, policies or technical accounting topics as needed.
