LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a growing organization in Houston, TX. Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining general ledger accuracy
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other financial records
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies or variances
- Support fixed asset accounting, depreciation tracking, and account maintenance
- Prepare account schedules and supporting documentation for audits
- Assist with financial reporting and internal management reports
- Collaborate with cross‑functional departments to ensure accurate financial information
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and workflows
- Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles
- Experience with account reconciliations and month‑end close activities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Experience with ERP or accounting software systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
- Experience with fixed assets, lease accounting, or complex reconciliations
- Public accounting or corporate accounting background
- Advanced Excel skills
- CPA designation or CPA‑track candidates are encouraged to apply
- Pay range: $31-$38 per hour
- Pay Details: $31.00 to $37.00 per hour
