Two years prior experience in a busiess office or with student accounts and knowledge of college policies and business office policies is preferred. The successful candidate will have effective verbal and written communication skills and as well as the ability to process confidential and sensitive student record information with discretion and professionalism. In addition, the successful candidate should have the ability to work effectively with the public, students and colleagues, both external and internal.

Nature of Work

Assembles and analyzes data and transactions, prepares statements and reports relating to an assigned area of responsibility.

Examples of Work Performed
  • Post charges, late fees, and other group transactions.
  • Process and maintain waiver equation variables and third-party transactions.
  • Assign, verify, bill, and collect third party payments for each term.
  • Post and reverse charges and payments as needed.
  • Assign and Remove Holds/Service indicators.
  • Customer Service – answering all student/parent questions via phone, email or in person conversations.
  • Student cashiering and payment processing.
  • Reconcile and prepare daily deposits including student, revolving, miscellaneous, and departmental.
  • Troubleshooting student account transactions.
  • Process revolving fund payment requests and reimbursements.
  • Semi-annual write off preparation and processing.
  • Monitor, maintain, and post charges and payments for study abroad programs.
  • Processing financial aid disbursement and student and sponsor refunds.
  • Assist the Director with assembling and analyzing data and transactions and preparing various reports.
  • Honorable withdrawal processing.
  • Perform testing in the Student Information System.
  • Complete new item type and term set up for tuition, fees, and related term calendars etc.
  • Communication generation to students.
  • Monthly invoicing processing.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Accounts.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/related field; or an Associate’s degree in accounting/related field
plus, three years of related experience.
