Summary:

The Accounting/Finance Intern role helps the Accounting and Finance team with everyday tasks such as accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll support, financial planning and analysis, tax, as well as any function related to our accounting and finance processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Help with basic financial analysis and reports as needed. Prepare simple journal entries each month.
  • Assist with account reconciliations (fuel, balance sheet, etc.).
  • Support tracking and updates for fixed assets (additions, changes, disposals).
  • Help count and track inventory (such as chemicals).
  • Review and analyze equipment billing rates.
  • Enter data accurately into company systems (Lawson, CHIPS, FISC, OnBase, etc.).
  • Learn how the accounting department operates.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and team discussions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently working toward a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
  • Willing to learn new systems (ERP systems are a plus).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Able to work in the office and meet deadlines (including occasional extended hours).
