Financial Reporting, Senior Accountant
Position Summary
Southern Financial Reporting is looking for a Senior Accountant to support various departmental objectives including, but not limited to, month-end accounting activities, SEC reporting requirements, and intercompany analysis. The successful candidate will bring strong accounting skills, sound judgment, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Major Job Responsibilities
Perform accounting, analysis, and reporting activities for assigned business areas.
Prepare and review journal entries and financial reporting packages.
Complete financial tie-outs in support of periodic 10-Q/K reporting requirements.
Complete account reconciliations and perform variance analysis to help ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
Execute and maintain internal controls and related supporting documentation.
Analyze intercompany account balances and resolve discrepancies with business partners across the system.
Leverage technology, automation, and emerging tools to enhance accounting and reporting processes.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
At least 5 years of accounting or related experience required
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
Experience with Oracle Cloud, Oracle FCC, and/or similar ERP and reporting systems.
Experience with Workiva and Kyriba platforms.
CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of intercompany accounting and/or debt reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with automation or AI-enabled efficiency tools.
