The hotel accounting clerk handles daily financial transactions, audits revenue, processes invoices, and reconciles accounts. They support the finance team to ensure accurate record-keeping across room revenue, food and beverage, and vendor payments.
Daily Revenue & AuditingRecord and reconcile daily revenue from rooms, restaurants, and events. Audit cashier reports, cash floats, and credit card settlements.
Accounts Receivable (AR)Manage group master accounts, bill corporate clients or airlines, and track guest ledger balances. Follow up on late payments and manage collections.
Accounts Payable (AP)Verify vendor invoices, secure management approvals, match purchase orders, and schedule payments.
ReconciliationReconcile bank statements, house banks, and general ledger accounts.
Administrative SupportAssist the accounting manager with month-end closing, payroll data entry, and file maintenance.
EducationHigh school diploma or GED required; a degree or coursework in accounting or finance is a plus.
Experience1 to 2 years of general accounting or accounts receivable/payable experience. Hospitality or property management background preferred.
Technical SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with property management software (PMS) or accounting database systems.
Soft SkillsStrong attention to detail, clear communication, and basic math competency.
Our hotel is off I-55 and Highway 51, in Jackson's business district. A variety of shops and restaurants are within a half-mile, and we’re nine miles from downtown Jackson. The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum are less than 15 minutes away.
