Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Providing financial staffing and related consulting support to public sector clients (cities, villages, libraries, K-12 school districts, etc…)
- Assisting our public clients with their accounting and finance functions including bank reconciliations, budget development, perform year-end close of financial records and preparation for annual audit, and related support
- Verifies, allocates, and posts details of client transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents, such as bank statements, invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printouts
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting client transactions
- Working independently or in teams to improve client accounting operations including drafting policies and procedures
- Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and equity, and prepares balance sheet, statement of revenues and expenditures, and other reports to summarize current and projected financial position
- Collaborating with other consultants and clients for continuous improvement recommendations
- Training and development opportunities for professional, personal and technical growth
- Detail-oriented leader with problem solving, communication, organizational, technical and analytical skills.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting; or Master's degree in accounting or tax.
- Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
- Preferred:
On track to complete the requisite degree and supporting credits to sit for the CPA or CIA exam, with the goal of successfully obtaining the CIA or CPA license.
