** As a Senior Accountant, you will collaborate effectively with employees, management, and both internal and external stakeholders to optimize performance, foster creativity, and enhance problem‐solving capabilities. Your ability to work cooperatively with diverse teams will be key to achieving exceptional results. In addition, you will oversee fixed asset accounting, ensuring accurate tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of the airport’s capital assets.
* Specifically, as the Senior Accountant you will:
** Review and analyze data for propriety, correct coding, and proper documentation. Post transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and City and County of Denver Fiscal Accountability Rules.
* Generate and maintain reconciliations and amortization schedules for balance sheet accounts.  Research and resolve discrepancies periodically and post correcting journal entries as required.
* Work with DEN’s budget and fiscal policy groups to correct general ledger coding discrepancies and process journal entries accordingly.
* Develop and maintain relationships with DEN budget groups and DEN project managers to ensure required information is communicated to the accounting team.
* Manage DEN’s accrual process by collaborating with budget and fiscal policy groups to calculate period, quarter, and year-end accruals.  Generate and process accrual journal entries accordingly.
* Assist DEN’s Financial Reporting group with year-end audit preparation and quarterly/annual financial statement generation.
* Work with stakeholders both internal and external to the City, respond to accounting inquiries, provide specialized and complex information and assistance with specific accounting transactions.
