We're looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to join our Fiscal Services/Accounting team. As a Staff Accountant you will p rovide accounting support to the Controller by performing a variety of accounting functions for Sarah D Culbertson Memorial Hospital and its associated entities.

• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Perform bookkeeping and financial reporting functions for various departments and the Hospital Foundation.
• Prepare daily bank deposits and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare invoices and account statements and monitor account balances.
• Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with Accounts Payable functions.
• Assist with gathering documentation for the Medicare Cost Report and annual financial audit.
• Monitor outstanding checks and complete required unclaimed property reporting.
• Support the Controller and Chief Financial Officer with special projects and financial initiatives.
• Adhere to established hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience.
• Minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to perform accounting functions accurately, maintain financial records, reconcile accounts, and handle confidential financial information with discretion.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Two or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standard accounting practices.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability and willingness to learn new software and technology.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods, with opportunities to change position as needed.
• Ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, and standard office equipment requiring manual dexterity.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.
• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the work environment.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment with regular computer use.
